Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Milos, a Team Leader in the Risk and Fraud department at Z
Omni Serve Marketing. With a background in Operations and a passion for investigation, Milos has quickly
become an asset to the company. In this interview, we will delve into Milos’s career journey at Z Omni,
explore the challenges and rewards of their current role, and gain insights into the world of Risk and
Fraud Management.
1) How did your journey at Z Omni Serve Marketing begin? What attracted you to join the company in the
first place?
I was looking for opportunities in iGaming and knowing my strengths, the position of Operations Executive
in Z Omni looked like a great chance for career reorientation. Under amazing guidance of my superiors
and surrounded by fellow friendly peers always eager to help, my previous experience allowed me to be a
quick fit into the team and to rapidly advance and grow as part of the team.
2) Can you describe your transition from the Operations department to your current role as a Team
Leader in the newly formed Risk and Fraud sector? What were the key challenges and learnings during
this transition?
This transition between the Operations department to my current role came quite naturally and easily, as I
have proven to be quite gifted and motivated for all tasks that involved fraudulent activities our users
attempt. On an average day, I would make sure all my tasks are done, and I would spend excessive free
time trying to understand and monitor stuff that seemed “out of place”. Motivation, hard work and plenty
of available data allowed me to advance my skills and everyone noticed the results I started delivering.
3) How does your current position differ from your previous position in the Operations sector?
Work in operations was different because we had to make sure everything was functioning properly, and
our products and brands were serving their intended purpose. While resolving possible issues, we would
run across evidence or reports of suspicious activity and we would pass these reports along to the RF
department, while only superficially dabbling into the case itself. Now in Risk and Fraud, I must make sure
that these cases are properly handled, marked, resolved and cataloged.
4) What are the primary responsibilities and objectives of your team in managing risk and fraud
prevention within the company?
Our main responsibilities are monitoring of customer’s activity to protect the legal and financial status of
the company, while maintaining a safe and friendly environment for our customers.
5) How does your team collaborate with other departments within Z Omni Serve Marketing to ensure the
company’s overall security and compliance?
Our team is like the silent guardian of the daily business flow. The Operations team reports anything
suspicious to us, while Customer Support often consults us about irregularities they face while dealing with
customers’ business. We also have a close collaboration with the KYC team, while our responsibility and
reporting go to the Legal department. Occasionally we ask the Backoffice team for some assistance, or
they ask us, it goes both ways.
6) What are some of the most rewarding aspects of your current role? What do you enjoy most about
leading your team?
I love the small intricacies of my current role. Investigations can be very fun, having both psychological
moments of understanding the person behind the problem, and understanding the system itself. What I
enjoy the most about leading my team is the ease of communication and mutual understanding we have
built.
7) What advice would you give to someone who is aspiring to become a Team Leader or a Risk
Management professional?
Be fair, be persistent, and understanding to your team. Fight for their wellbeing while upholding
expectations of your position and requirements of your job. Intelligence or hard work only are not enough
on their own if you want to work in this profession. You must possess both, while being persistent and
willing to constantly improve yourself.
8) What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work? How do you maintain a healthy work-
life balance?
Traveling, gaming and music. If I have my headphones on, you know I am working on a hard-to-
understand case. Connecting all the dots behind a potential issue goes easier with music, at least for me.
Outside of the work hours, positions in the RF team are not stressful, so I just make sure I get a good rest
between shifts.
9) What is your proudest accomplishment, either personally or professionally?
I believe I have a lot to brag about, but my personal favorites involve running, working in media and event
management, and resolving some hard cases as part of Z Omni.
10) What is your favorite thing about working at Z Omni Serve Marketing? What makes the company
culture unique?
Z Omni is carried by its young spirit. My favorite thing about working here is the great relationships I’ve
built with my peers, and the respect I get for my work. My efforts were noticed and rewarded, which was a
huge plus in my books.
11) What are your career goals for the future?
I would like to improve my skills first, then I will think about career advancement.
12) What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Don’t hold onto things that aren’t working out so hard, there is a lot of value in dynamic and change.
13) Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers about your experience at Z Omni Serve
Marketing?
